We made it home. 3 weeks seemed to be like a lifetime, so much new memories, all those great places, mind blowing…. I will come back for sure. Hopefully sooner than in the next 8 years. I already have a plan ;) Sneaky me :P
I use this post though as a short summary and best practices to share for all of You who would like to visit this great country, maybe it will be a bit useful and it makes the planning easier to you… so here we go again:
NEW YORK CITY
> from Newark Airport there is a train (NJ Transit) to the NY Penn Station, it takes about 20-30 min and is for sure much cheaper than a taxi to get to Manhattan. The Train costs about 12 $ per person. Very convenient.
>the place we stayed: https://www.booking.com/hotel/us/broadway-hostel.pl.html?sid=e9d51643c1dff8fe9f6089382e09a6c8;dcid=2
For us it was just perfect, even though we had a room with shared bathroom, but we didn't feel this really. Maybe it's not the cheapest place, maybe it's not in the best spot, but for sure enough and we had a great NY Experience there. And this typical american breakfast place right across the street was just amazing.
> If you want a view from above than only Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Plaza) - aprox. 30$, its worth it. Promise.
> Don't miss Grand Central Station!
WASHINGTON, DC
> The Capitol Tour is for free, book it online earlier, you won't regret
> Arlington Cemetery is a MUST! Tour with a hop on - hop off bus is for 9$
> Plan much more than only one day there, we did this mistake and regret it! ;)
