I remember, being in Sydney, that I said something that there are so many hills and stairs etc. … well Sydney – I’m sorry. San Fran – you got the lead on this one now on my list ;) Not that I am surprised with that… but it hits you when you have to walk it all around.
But, let’s start from the beginning… quick quiz – what time did we wake up today? Any guesses? Yeah… 4:40 am :D Don’t You just looove those different time zones? The weather turned out absolutely perfect, not one cloud on the sky, shinning sun, more like End of June than beginning of November. We started to walk up Lombard Street to make it to the most curvy part of it… you probably all know it from those mems with the Limo stuck on it ;)
Going downhill we made it to the ferry harbor… looks really nice, reminded us on some polish seaside resorts like Kolobrzeg ;) Fisherman’s Wharf it’s called here. There are tons of stores there, but more important restaurants all around…. Very good restaurants. In San Fran are the most restaurants per capita in the whole US! We could see that for sure… there were also a lot stands with fresh seafood, yummy. We actually ended up in probably the most expensive restaurant at the Pier 39…. But we also had the best view on Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz and… some sea lions lying in the sun :) Check out the picks.
Of course we couldn’t resist some shopping also :D Levi’s jeans for 40$ where would you get that in Europe? On our way back home we wanted to take the cable tram, for what San Francisco is also very known for, but the line was huge and we decided to do it later. As the evening was still young, we went to a Movie Theatre. We watched “Nightcrawler” with Jake Gyllenhaal – good stuff. Although, I’m not really sure if it was the right movie to watch short before we hit LA…. With all the crime scenes :P
San Fran is definitely worth the trip, and as we speak about it, I got a newsletter with some very good deal, maybe someone will follow us :)
