What a beautiful and great day we had today! We took a little field trip… to the paradise for all women… the vineries kingdom of US – Napa Valley ;) But before I tell you how our day here was, let me just share another thing… you know, in general we are being spoiled here… for real. Mostly by all those waiters and sellers… almost every time we want to buy alcohol or cigarettes they ask for our ID… that’s just crazy, seriously? ;) We don’t look that young, really… but still, the nice feeling stays.
But coming back to our trip… this was also the opportunity to try out the Mustang without the roof. Weather was perfect of course. Not one single cloud up there, GPS on and here we go…. And what lessons learned do we have from this point? Never ever trust a GPS for 100%!!! Never! So here we are downtown SF, morning rush hours, stuck in a traffic, going the wrong way anyway…. I hit the brakes, turned around and did it my way :P We got the chance at least to see a bit of the city and take some pictures. The correct rout was only one – via Golden Gate Bridge
After an hour drive we made it to Napa Village. The Winery we picked out from the travel guide was… out of service. We found the Visitors Centre though, were we got some nice directions were the good stuff is happening. We were kind of surprised that so many street and renovations works were going on there. Later we found out that end of August there was a heavy earthquake here, the biggest since the late 80s.
We went all up to Calistoga, on the north of Napa Valley, to Sterling Vineyards. On the way we passed hundreds of other wineries, spread around on the right and left of the highway. As we arrived a small gondola took us up the hill were we had those amazing views of the valley, and we of course did some wine tasting. So perfect. Chill and relax with amazing views and perfect weather. And wine shopping at the end. How better could this get, huh?
